3 Weeks With No News

Catzee's been missing for three weeks now and there is nothing new to report. We did find one poster still up at a restaurant, but the other places have different stories as to why the posters were taken down, so there are no real clues about her. I figured that there is no sense posting the same thing every couple of days, so I've been silent. It's at the point where I've already done all the suggestions I'm getting in the comments, and more. And with respect, the "the only safe cat is an indoor cat" comments are in extremely poor taste at such a time as this.

One tip from one of the vet's I gave a poster to - if you know your pet's microchip number, include it on the poster.

I know that miracles do take place, but my soul seems to let go a little more with each passing day. I cannot allow myself to think the worst, it's better to accept life as it is. There are no guarantees in life, only opportunities to use our time wisely and to the best of our ability; to be able to look back without regrets at the decisions we make.

For my part, I do not regret that Catzee was allowed to go out. It gave her the opportunity to fulfill the purpose for which cats were created. She found her place functioning as part of our family team; she was proving to be an excellent mouser. It was hard to keep her imprisoned in that apartment those three years. My heart will forever treasure one of her first days out, when she realized Dan and I were standing at the other end of the yard watching her. I will forever remember how she leaped and bounded to reach us, and how she purred and and purred rubbed against our legs. I cannot tell you the joy it gave me to see her so happy.

We still pray that she will come home. Everywhere we go we continue to look for her, hoping to catch a glimpse of a small tortie somewhere, someplace, hoping that we can bring her home.

Unless she returns there will be no more posts on this blog. Please know that I very much appreciate your kind words, prayers, and good thoughts.

Still No News

No good news that is. What has happened however, is that the posters we've put up in various places have disappeared. Catzee's dad went to replace some, but these were taken down as well. However, no one has contacted us about her, so we tend to believe that someone around here has her, but doesn't want to give her up even for the reward. Hopefully she's safe and being well taken care of. I still hope and pray though, that she finds her way home soon.

Nothing Yet

No one ever called from the poster that was taken down from the convenience store, so today DH went and replaced it. We have offered a reward for her. We continue to walk the property and neighborhood, calling and listening. DH has talked to a few more folks in the area, but no one has seen her. All we can do is wait.

Hope?

Someone took down Catzee's "Lost Cat" poster from the corner convenience store. I had asked permission and it was taped on the inside of the window. It has her picture and our phone number. No phone call yet though.

MIA Update

Still no sign of Catzee.

So far we have:
  • been in contact with www.24petwatch.com where her microchip is registered
  • contacted the county animal shelter
  • contacted the county animal control (who turns in all the cats they pick up to the shelter)
  • contacted the local animal rescue
  • asked the neighbors
  • put posters up at the local restaurants, convenience stores, pet store, and vet's office (left one at animal shelter too)
  • placed lost & found ad in local trade paper
  • put her litter box outside (on advice of animal rescue)
  • scoured the property & neighborhood several times
  • prayed hard
  • will try Whicky Wuudler's vacuum bag trick tonight if it doesn't pour rain!
We live on five acres in a rural suburban setting. We have two fields and lots of woods, where Catzee loved to roam. Our next door neighbors also have large fields. Behind us is lots of woods.

Everyone's prayers, concerns, and support are comforting and coveted.

MIA

Catzee's Mom here.

Catzee didn't come home last night. This is unusual because she usually comes in as soon as it starts to get dark and goes to bed until the crack of dawn. She does go out if Rascal goes out aftert dark, always like to be in for the night.

I called and called for her and was out looking for her as soon as it was light. No joy. I'm worried about my kitty girl.

Pout

Me an' Rascal had to stay inside a'cuz some scary mens were bangin' an' bangin' on our roof!

I didn't like it. I didn't like stayin' inside an' I didn't like all the bangin!!!

Mom said they were puttin' on a new roof an' there was too much 'quipment in the yard an' too much stuff fallin' off the roof. So we couldn't go out. Ya can see all about it at Mom's bloggie, here.

I wish they would go away.
